Great computer and great price. We purchased the computer for our ten year old son to play his computer games for Christmas. The only negative is that it does not come with a set of discs with the operating system, which unfortunately seems to be the new norm. It was everything we hoped it would be. Like it so much, can't wait to purchase one for myself. So we had to create the recovery disk. (It takes you through it step by step, but would prefer to have the disks)Otherwise, very satisfied with the computer.
I purchased this last night at a local retailer. HP promotes this as 'perfect' for surfing the internet, doing email and other "casual user" tasks - and they are right.I added an extra 1GB stick I had, bringing it up to 2GB on board. (Since I want to use this as a transfer workstation for converting old VHS tapes to digital, I'm sure I'll pick up a couple of 2GB sticks just to give the processor a little more overhead)BUT - out of the box is exactly as advertised, setup was painless.Highly recommended for people who just need a good, reliable computer for internet use and other home office applications.
This PC was DOA, Amazon can't replace it as their supplier doesn't carry it anymore. HP shows it on their web site.So much for the Great Amazon guarantee of replacement.Maybe my last Amazon purchase.JO
This is worth it, can't say nothing else.only reason why i gave 4 stars instead of 5 isthat i receaved it later than expected.
